I'm back from my week away! and OMG did I have the worst and best time!
my mum took me to Scotland to have one last photography trip before I move to San Francisco later this month. I had never been to Glen Coe before and I was soo excited to see what I could photograph!
Plus I really needed a chill out time, sleeping on my mums sofa as well as preparing for my move to the US is really starting to take its strain on me, I was getting so stressed so I couldn't wait to get out into the highlands and get down to some photography to take my mind off things

Have you heard of Black Rock Cottage? Its quite famously photographed, well I finally get to this fantastic location, the great mountains looming in the background, perfect evening light, I take two photos and then my camera reads 'lens error - clean contacts between body and lens' or something!! I nearly die!
I take the lens off to find the mount - the mount we have just spent £180 getting replaced - is damaged, some of pins are pushed in and the lens just can't be read!
I am in the middle of the scottish highlands, at the start of what was supposed to be one final week of landscape photography for me, and my camera has broken!
Can you imagine how I felt??!! I was already so stressed and then this? I couldn't stop shaking and on the way back to the place we were staying I just burst into tears, I felt so horrible! I just couldn't understand why this keeps happening to me, I swear I'm a  good person! I don't deserve this luck! I just don't!!! I just felt like the world was against me and perhaps someone out there just doesn't want me to be a photographer

so, the next morning, me and my mum get back in the car and drive aaaalllll the way back to glasgow to go to the camera repair place to complain. I felt so cheated! I was thinking all sorts, like they were crooked and hadnt really fixed the camera, just so so upset, so stressed and  upset

Once we finally get into glasgow in the early afternoon, we go straight to the repair shop, explain whats happened. They take one look, was into the back and tell me to wait a moment.
5 minutes later the man comes back with the camera fixed! apparently a small piece of plastic had been left in the mount when it was been fixed, they took it out and the mount was again fully opperational! They said it was their mistake, they'd fix it for free and it wouldn't trouble me again.

So after that it was straight back up to Glen Coe to continue with my holiday! I was there before nightfall and I managed to capture this before sundown:
and the rest of my time there was lovely!

urgh but man I could have done without that camera malfunction!
but seriously, can you believe my luck?! no wonder I am getting so nervous about my move to the US!
