the little boat sailed smoothly over the lake towards the jetty, she was finally coming home, but why so quiet?

time: phew, erm, about 6 hours?
process: iv had this idea in my head for a few days now. i knew what i wanted but finding the right images was hard at first.
i browsed dA until i had found a substantial amount of castle images, which i then began to line up in Adobe Elements to try and find a pleasing composition. originally i had * gmtb-stocks Arundel_castle3 on the line up to but somehow i felt it didnt quite fit. i cropped the image and began to blend the two buildings together.
next i began to work on the sky. id seen ~pdtnc-stock's Randomness88 earlier and knew it was the kind of dramatic brooding sky i wanted to cover the castle. however the blue just didnt fit the sunset lighting id given the building so i browsed my own files and found an image id taken this winter and i loved beautiful lighting and the clouds. however , it just didnt look real! so i simply erased some of my sky to allow some of ~pdtnc-stocks blue sky to show through.
the building still didnt look quite right though, they didnt quite match up so i did some more cloning and blending until i was satifyed.
after perfecting the sky blending with the building i added a few birds thanks to ~pureanodyne and i was happy.
then i duplicated, flipped, blurred, cloned, transformed, copied and pasted and rippled to create the reflection.

i really wanted to add a figure to this but i just couldnt find the right stock in the right resoloution n stuff so i just left it. never know, maybe i'l come back to it one day...... :star:
