Artist's Comments

I have um-ed and ah-ed about submitting this one.
Cos lets face it, you were expecting a landscape right? ;)

But this is something I did last month, when I was trying to get some bad feelings out my system, and you know what? it helped.

This is my personal favourite of the series I shot that day, but there are more at my Flickr account [link] if you'd like to see more. :aww:

So this is personal. The emotions are really, no pantomine here.

Distracting myself and turning the emotions into something constructive really helped me, have you ever tried it?

btw, you are not supposed to turn your head to look at it, otherwise i would have posted it that way! its like that for a personal reason, things didn't exactly feel the right way round for me at the time.

I'd rather no personal negitive comments on this one, cos it took just a little bit of bravery to submit it, crit the photography technique please, but don't crit the emotion. :thanks:

It's beautifully taken. I find photo sessions when I'm feeling down can really help...turn negative feelings into creativity and it is amazing.

The makeup is really good on this by the way, and the colours are very impressive. So different to your normal portraits, it's very very good.

I'm just looking for accidental beauty in the strangest of places...

I'm curious as to why you choose to have it turned on its side. I like it, it's just not something I see done frequently.

I actually love more your portraits than the landscapes, because they express emotions, and I think it's harder to get a good shot of yourself than one of landscape,as the last ones remain still...while you keep moving and changing and experiencing different feelings.

Great picture indeed,I really like it,and I'm looking forward for the moment I'll be able to take a shot of myself at least half as good as yours... :)

I think its one of the best ways to get yourself back into a good mood. It helps to you to remember who you are and to understand how you are feeling.

it helped me when i was feeling down on deployment.

i hope your feeling better, its no fun having emotions like this slow you down. You have alot of talent, with more to explore and discover.
