art exam final piece
TIME: FOUR HOURS

-oil on canvas-

with four hours already gone this is what my painting looks like(-ish
the colours are a bit off and the contrast is a bit up because i had to brighten it to get rid of a grey looking canvas)
im quite pleased with it so far, it going slowly but im fairly happy with the quality, obviously some areas need tweaking, but please let me know what you think

oh, you are viewing it at about twice the size it is in real life :)

thank you for looking

It's looking fantastic!
I don't know how anyone paints, I find it so hard.
It's looking very photo-realistic

Hey, your work is great so far.. the pencil sketch behing the oil add a look of two dimensions morphing to three dimensions to the piece. Loved the mouth and her expression. Whats the name of the green you used? Didnt liked the green, but thats just me... Your tecnique is very nice. Keep on going! The hard work will reward you with a beautiful piece of art. Please show us when its finished.

I have to agree about the green, I'm not too fond of that green part at the corner of her mouth on the left hand of the screen... but other than that the technique is excellent, as always with you, and she does bounce out of the canvas, she is so lively! The colored "noise" on the skin makes it realistic. I'd suggest lightening the brownish shading around the mouth, though, she almost seems to have a light moustache like that... but not too much. And it could simply be the scanner / contrast which makes it look that way, or the enlargement you made when scanning. It's difficult to tell with scans, and what with everyone having a different pc screen... last week I saw one of my pics through a different screen and it looked almost like somebody else's work... Anyhow, I can't wait to see this finished. She has a lovely mischievous smile.
